Bodrum Airport: Cheap Flights, Transport and Terminals

Milas-Bodrum Airport lies near Milas about 36 kilometres north-east of Bodrum and is the gateway to the Bodrum peninsula and the north of Muğla province. Operated by TAV since 2015, the airport has its domestic and international terminals side by side; most of its more than 4 million passengers a year travel between May and October, when holiday flights arrive from all over Europe.

From Istanbul, Turkish Airlines flies year-round from Istanbul Airport and AJet and Pegasus from Sabiha Gökçen, and AJet and Pegasus also serve Bodrum from Ankara. From Germany, SunExpress flies from Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich, Stuttgart and Hanover, with Condor and Eurowings added in the summer schedule, while easyJet, Jet2, TUI, Transavia and Corendon run a busy summer programme from the UK, the Netherlands and Scandinavia.

The cheapest flights to Bodrum usually come up in the shoulder season, from May to early June and from late September into October, and on midweek dates; July and August and the holiday weeks are the most expensive and call for early booking. From Istanbul compare AJet with Pegasus, from Germany SunExpress with Condor and Eurowings, and bear in mind that in winter connections via Istanbul are often the only option. Havaş and the municipal operator Muttaş run airport shuttles to Bodrum bus station timed to flight arrivals, taking about 45 to 60 minutes, with extra services towards Turgutreis and Yalıkavak in season. Timetables and fares change, so check the airport website for current details.

• Taxi: from the rank outside the terminals, Bodrum centre is about 40 minutes away and Gümbet, Bitez and Turgutreis a little further; airport taxis work to a fixed tariff list by destination.
• Car: the D330 Milas–Bodrum road links the airport with the peninsula; car-hire desks are in the arrivals hall and booking ahead is advisable in summer.
• Transfers: hotels and tour operators arrange private transfers, and Datça and Marmaris can be reached onward by road.

The international terminal offers a large duty-free area, cafés and restaurants, currency exchange, ATMs, a pharmacy, free Wi-Fi, a prayer room and baby-care rooms; the domestic terminal is smaller and a short walk away. TAV's Primeclass lounge can be used for a fee. The airport is open around the clock in season, while the number of flights falls sharply in winter.

The open-air car park in front of the terminals serves short and long stays around the clock, with daily rates for longer parking. Payment is made on exit; current rates are listed on the airport website.
